You can keep your Highline computer from your home school to use at HVA. If you are in need of a device because you are new to the Highline district please call or come to the school between 8-2:30. If you need repairs please reach out to Thomas Blankenship, our technician, and he can help you.
Academic Classes
The Highline Virtual Academy is a flexible learning model that provides opportunities for self-paced learning. The core instruction will be delivered through Edgenuity, an online learning platform.
Step 1: ClassLink
Turn on device and open screen to log in to ClassLink:

Personal iPads and personal computers: go to HVA’s website and click on Students/Classlink
Step 2: Google Classroom
Log into ClassLink and you will see apps to support your learning
Click on Google Tools app and go to Google Classroom
Step 3: Google Classroom and Schedule
Your teacher will have a place for your visual schedule in Google Classroom which will have the links to your grade level orientation and your Edgenuity classes.
Grade level teachers will send Google Classroom course codes and an Orientation Zoom link out prior to the start of the year.

Social Emotional and Connecton
Personalized Learning Plan, 1:1 Check-ins and Advisory
Our community is focused on building relationships with students and families with face-to-face experiences to engage students in social emotional support. We are committed to delivering on our Highline Promise to know all students by name, strength and need. This includes academic and social emotional skills.
ALL HVA students will:
- Participate in a daily advisory (attendance will be taken during Advisory and screens need to be on. Please connect with your teacher if there is a reason your screen can not be on)
- Participate in weekly 1:1 meetings with a HVA teacher on Zoom
- Engage in small group or individual learning support as needed with teaching staff on Zoom
- Build a personalized learning plan that contains your vision for your education, goals and an action plan

Example of a Digital Notebook
Students will keep track of learning plans, daily schedule and class notes in a digital notebook.

Students school schedule can be found in their daily notebook. There will be links to all of their classes on this schedule.
Example of a Personalized Learning Plan
Students will keep track of their goals in a personalized learning plan. They will work on them in advisory and use them when they check in with their teacher during their 1:1. These will also be in their digital notebook.

EMAIL A TEACHER
- Go to classroom.google.com.
- Select the class of the teacher you want to email.
- Click People.
- Next to the teacher's name, click Email. Note: If you don’t see Email, you might be using a personal email account, or the admin turned off email.
- In the new email, enter your message and then click Send.
VIEW AN EMAIL
You can’t see or get emails in Classroom. To view sent or received emails, use your G Suite for Education Gmail.
