Be Ready For Your Civil Case

Your Civil Case
As a plaintiff, you are here in order to sue the person who wronged you, who will be referred to as the defendant from now on. Once our complaint is filed and the summons is delivered, our case can begin.
What Happens Now?
Mediation
Before we go to trial, we will try to mediate. Here we will meet with the defendant, their lawyer, and a third party to attempt to come up with a settlement to avoid the court process completely. Through arbitration, this settlement will be binding by law.
Trial
If the mediation is unsuccessful and a settlement is not set, we will continue with a trial. In front of a judge, both sides will present their cases. Once both perspectives have been heard, the judge will present the verdict or his decision on the case.
Appeal
If you are unhappy with the outcome of the case, we can appeal to a higher court. This action will result in another trial, which can be very costly so it should be a carefully considered decision.
