Best Plays of the Week

Coach's Corner

Even though we are not officially done (we still have make-ups), we SURVIVED STAAR!! Thanks so much to Felicia Simmons and Tamara Dangerfield for a flawless execution of testing this year!! It really takes fabulous coordinators, but truly, testing days would not be a success without the conscientiousness of each and every one of you! It really does take a village!

Now...knowing that testing is for the most part behind us, the end of the year is in sight. It is now that we must tighten up on expectations and consequences (positive and negative) so we can have a safe and orderly end to the school year. Use Bulldog Bucks and Movie Dollars!!!!!!! We want to FINISH STRONG! Try to stay on top of your end of the year countdown, too!

Please mark your calendars for the days and times designated as our "weather make-up" days.

STAFFING UPDATES

Rafael Luna will be leaving us at the end of this year as he prepares to be deployed to Japan later this year.

Mariella Castillo, ESL Lead, will be staying home with her babies next year.

Ms. Sisk and Ms. Byrd will begin a new phase as they start their retirement.

Ms. Gutierrez has chosen to pursue her career in testing/assessment.

Mr. Trimble officially accepted a permanently position with us in music.

Mr. Castro officially accepted a permanently position with us in art.

Ms. Garcia officially accepted a permanently position with us in 4th grade language arts.

We are so forturnate to have had the opportunity to have all three of these folks with us this year!

More updates as they happen.

18 more days to grow together!

STAAR Pep Rally-What a BLAST!

Make Up Day for Students and Staff

Mr, Chambers shared in his message that students will be making up the flood day on Friday, June 3, 2016. That means staff will still have one more day to make up as well. So, instead of trying to get everyone to come to school on a Saturday, we will implementing FLEX time for our staff. The schedule will include all staff staying an hour extra on Tuesday, May 31st (until 4:40) and Wednesday, June 1st (until 4:40). Then, we will all stay two extra hours on Thursday, June 2 (until 5:40) and on this day, we will spend those two hours in our End of the Year Wrap Up Staff Meeting, review our EOY data, give out awards, say goodbyes, etc. These FLEX hours will keep us from having to come and work on Saturday, June 4th.

If you are unable to stay late on one or more of these days, you will need to have a make-up day approved by your supervisor.

So....that means when we finish dismissal on the students' last day (June 3rd) your rooms will need to be completely packed up and ready for the carpet people to get started. Administrators will walk classrooms following dismissal on Friday to sign off final clearance on rooms. We ask that you leave your EOY Countdown Form on your desk easily visible for us to sign off.

Silent Auction Time Again!!!

Start cleaning out your closets and cabinets for new or gently used items. You can begin bringing in items Wednesday, May 11th. Items can be dropped off in the science lab. The auction will open at 7:30 AM on May 18th and close at 2:00 PM Friday, May 20th. IF you bid on items make sure you bring $$$$ that Friday to pay for your items. This is a great fundraiser for our staff activity account. Remember one man's trash is another man's treasure!!

Uniforms

Please chat with your students about the importance to adhere to the dress code. Students should be in uniform at all times. The only exceptions are graduation and picture days.
