Ms. Gebhard's 1st Grade Class
Make Yourself Proud!
Classroom Update
Wednesday Q4 midterm reports went home. Please return these signed if you have not already.
Earlier this week you received your Poppy Popcorn sale forms. This fundraiser will benefit The Leader in Me and the new playground. Order forms/money is due Friday May 13th. Checks should be made out to Claxton PTO. Support Claxton and a local business!
If you would like to order spring pictures these orders are due May 13th.
A couple things that can help us out in class as we end the year. Please don't let your child bring any sort of toy or anything extra in their backpack that will be played with during class. You can continue at home to support behavior at school by talking with your child about the importance of school including listening/following directions in order to learn/succeed. We can have a lot of fun and be learning too if we work as a team to follow the class/school rules. We have been spending a lot of time focused on this. Thursday I had a class meeting with those students who have been struggling with behavior in class. They worked on "think sheets" where they wrote about what they will be working on improving. Please look for these in folders today and return signed on Monday. If I don't receive the sheet signed then I will give you a call Monday to discuss further.
End of year assessments have started! Students completed the DIBELS portion of MCLASS this past week. We will be assessing reading levels (TRC) this upcoming week. Throughout the month of May students will be taking their math assessment tasks. In class we are now reviewing the material learned throughout the year. The weekly math homework will be going along with the class review and assessment tasks, so please take the time to work with your child.
Thank you for the nice cards/notes, treats, flowers, and gift cards this week. I really appreciate it!
