Shark Scoop
March 2023
Principal, Mr. Marker
Dear Naples Park Families,
March is going to be a great month for our campus. New swings have arrived to replace some of ours that have swung out! We are also getting an amazing new surfacing to our physical education pavilion. Hopefully with our installations coordinated with Spring Break 🏖 our Sharks will return to finished fun!
In more good news, our PTO and community have done such an outstanding job with fundraising, our planned spring fundraiser walkathon will now simply be a fun and fitness event for our students. Thank you for being so incredibly supportive to our school.
Today is a great day, and the future will be even better.
It is good to be at Naples Park Elementary School…Home of the Sharks.
Sincerely,
Christopher Marker
Principal of the Naples Park Sharks

Federal Program Stakeholder Input Survey
Each year, Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) receives federal funds to support eligible schools in our district. Feedback is valuable to schools as we plan for the 2023-2024 school year. The survey is now open and will close before Spring Break.

Attendance Matters
We are always striving to make sure NPE students are at school, on time, every day! Every moment of learning is important to your child’s development and progress. Thank you!
*Please note- If your child is absent for any reason, please call the front office at 377-7700 to let us know why your child is absent so we can properly notate that. In addition, all absences are unexcused unless a doctor’s note is provided. Per Florida Statute (1003.26(1)(b), students with 5 unexcused [or validated] absences within a calendar month, or 15 unexcused [or validated] within a 90 day period are considered truant and an attendance meeting may be scheduled with the school and district personnel.

School Counselor, Mrs. Johnson
It’s hard to believe we are halfway through Quarter 3 and Spring Break is approaching quickly. Spring Break is a great time for all of us to practice Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. When we take time to Sharpen the Saw, we take time to do the things we enjoy most. It’s the balance between working hard and having fun. I hope everyone has a relaxing Spring Break and returns ready to finish the school year strong.
Attention 5th Grade Parents
In a couple months, your child will be able to start scheduling their middle school electives. It’s important to update your address with our front office, so we have your child zoned for the correct middle school. The current address in our system will be used when scheduling electives. Last year, we had several families updating their address at the last minute, which can delay the scheduling process for your child. Thanks for your help!
Thanks!

Habit of the Month #6 - Synergize
Synergize is when two or more people work together to create solution that either would have thought of alone. It’s not your way or my way, but a better way. Synergy is taking good ideas and making them better by working together.
Take time and discuss examples of synergy in nature, history, literature, and personal experience with your child. For example, synergy happens in nature when a flock of geese fly in a V formation because due to the updraft, the entire flock can fly farther than each bird alone.
Below you’ll find a fun Tic-Tac-Toe activity that can be completed together as a family to further your learning about Habit #6. You can print the page at home or ask your child’s teacher for a paper copy. Return the board with three activities completed by the end of February for a surprise!

Clinic Corner, Nurse Angela
Our NPE Clinic is in need of children’s clothes sizes 4-16 for boys and girls. If you have any gently used clothing your child has out grown, please send them to the front office. Thank you for your help!
With weather and seasonal changes, we are seeing lots of sniffles and cold symptoms.
This is just a reminder that if your child has a fever of 100.0 or higher, they are not permitted to return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications (Tylenol/Motrin, etc.). In addition, please do not medicate your child for a fever and send them to school. If they are fever free, but have a runny nose they are permitted to come to school, but we ask that you encourage them to blow their nose, use good hand washing and drink lots of water!
In addition, if your child has diarrhea or vomiting, please keep them home until these symptoms have resolved.
Thank you so much for helping us keep all of our students safe and healthy for the remainder of the school year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me in the school clinic.
