Camp David Accord Summary

The Camp David Accord was an agreement between Israel and Egypt for peace between them on September 17, 1978. The leaders during the signing were Anwar El Sadat from Egypt and Menachem Begin from Israel. The reason for the treaty was because Israel attacked and took over the Sinai peninsula. afterward Egypt did not want war anymore and wanted to have peace and get there land back from Israel. On September 19, 1978 the Egyptian cabinet approves to the agreement and the Israeli Knesset approves of the agreement on September 28, 1978. Then they go to Washington where president carter helps with the agreement and they sign the treaty ending 31 years of war between the two.
