The Falcon Flyer
Superintendent Issue-June 2018
Summer, Summer, Summer Time!!
We are briskly moving forward on Makerspace instructional tools and Project-Based Learning (PBL) instructional methods to begin in the 2018-2019 school year. This is a great step forward for our district in the field of academics. We have funded these ideas using grants and reduced building budgets. Both innovations will benefit our students and our staff. It is my hope that we will be able to have a preview night at the middle school and elementary school prior to the start of school.
It is hard to believe that fall sports teams are already up and running. I have seen soccer drills on the field, ladies tennis starting to practice and a weight-room full of football players. I have talked to numerous coaches that are excited about the upcoming year in athletics. As an extra special treat to me this year my fellow league superintendents have elected me as the league president for the 2018-2019 school year. I will try my best to promote sportsmanship through our teams and throughout the league. I am excited about another year to "Leave No Doubt" in the SBAAC!
There are numerous personnel changes in the district. We wish all those moving on good luck in their future ventures. We are also excited about what our new staff will bring to the district. We have also taken this time to redistribute certain duties to current personnel to avoid having to replace all of those that are leaving. This opportunity to "run lean", along with numerous prior announced reductions in our budget, will allow us to firmly state we have cut three quarters of a million dollars (750,000k) prior to entering the 2018-2019 school year. Everyone is being asked to do more with less and our staff is up for the challenge.
The latest test scores are in from the state. Once again Clinton-Massie students have represented our district well. There is a report available below.
Thank you for your support. Stop by to see a game, performance or just to say Hi! We welcome the community to be a part of our success. Have a great summer!!
...and as always, GOOOOOO Falcons!

"State of the Schools" Video Coming Soon
"Numbers don't tell you everything. You have to know the story
behind the numbers."
-Douglas Reeves, Ph.D., Founder of Creative Leadership Solutions
It is the intention of the Clinton-Massie Local Schools Administration to share, with all stakeholders, relevant information so they can feel informed and make educated decisions about their child's future. In order to do this efficiently we are putting together a "State of the Schools" video to act as informational resource to community members, parents, and students. As the CMLS Superintendent I get to talk to numerous Falcon Family members and hear the plight of families on a everyday basis. There are questions about levies, expenditures, and the amount of contribution being put forth by the taxpayer. I know there are many hard working families that want nothing but the best for their student. I am very appreciative of what we have been given here at CMLS. We will be good stewards of our resources. We have most recently shown this by our latest state level audit. The video update coming soon will be a reflection of some positive events from the school year and informational in the area of future goals and spending plans. Thank you.
