Buniewicz Classroom News - 4/12
Mr. Buniewicz's 5th and 6th Grade Newsletter
Thank you for reading my weekly newsletter! This week marked the start of state testing, which is not our favorite season. However, the 5th grade put in tremendous effort and I am proud of their perseverance and positive attitude. I know this is a busy time for students with the play going on and basketball. If students need help, please don't hesitate to reach out. As per usual, Work Folders went home today with missing work and redos that students can complete.
Week in Review - 5th Grade
In Reading this week, 5th graders have been reading about how humans and nature interact. Our normal weekly readings were about invasive species and the Colony Collapse Disorder bees are suffering from.
In Social Studies, we have continued with our economics unit. We have discussed imports/exports, specialization, and supply and demand. The highlights of the week were turning the classroom into a doll-making factory and going on a scavenger hunt to see where objects in the classroom were produced.

Week in Review - 6th Grade
In Reading and Writing this week, we had a normal, but abridged, week of Wonders. In Social Studies, we have continued to discuss the economy. We have moved on to our essay that we will be working on the next few weeks about the colonization of Tanzania. Students received packets of activities and texts that will serve as our sources as we prepare to write the paper. These packets will be due before we leave for the break next Thursday.
