In the Middle
Updates from your Middle School DLS team!
Tip for Good Digital Citizenship
Please remember to ALWAYS protect your students' privacy. Closely review any picture you Tweet before posting. Don't post student's faces or student names without explicit parental consent. If you don't have parental consent don't post the students name or picture, even with something covering their face. When you post this information you are putting your students at risk!
You can run the STUDENT INFO REPORT - ESCHOOL to determine if your students have photo permission. The report shows: Student Name, ID, Grade, Birth Date, Email, Phone, Photo Restriction (Y = do NOT use their name or photo), Internet Access, and HAC account (Y = student has their own HAC account)
Tip for Success in Blended Learning/1:1
Start the school year off organized with your Schoology courses! Use folders to organize materials so that students and parents don't get "lost" in the course materials. As a department, decide the best flow for curriculum for your course. Having a standard will help if you have to be out and someone else has to manage your course or if students have a schedule change to another teacher.
Here's an example of how to organize your courses:
- create a folder for the 1st 9 weeks
- inside that folder, create a folder for Week 1 of school, example: Week 1: Aug. 16 - Aug. 20
- inside the Week 1 folder create folders for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (make the description for each folder include the Learning Objective and KUB)
- inside each daily folder include the materials students need for the lesson
When you continue to stay organized your students will know exactly what to do and where to go! If you need assistance getting started with organizing your Schoology courses reach out to your campus DLS!
Device Posture
Having students use the 45° posture will keep them from having to log back in to their Chromebook!
Student Password Update!
Here is the most recent, and the same as last week, update to the procedures for resetting student passwords!
You can either download the PDF below or click here for a step-by-step tutorial!
REMEMBER: Teachers reset student passwords. Do not send students to the library, office, or DLS.
If you are new to Service Console, you must answer a minimum of 2 security questions AND write and answer 2 security questions for Support Team verification.
