STUDENT DISMISSAL CHANGES
We understand that from time to time families may have last minute dismissal changes. Because teachers are fully engaged and focused on teaching, they may not see an email or dojo message from you about these changes during the school day. In order to ensure that staff sees your dismissal change before it is too late, please make sure that all changes go through the office. You may notify the teacher, just please notify the office too.
SCHOOL PICTURES
If families still want to order school pictures they can do so at shop.hrimaging.com 10-14 days after picture day.

PBIS NOTES from Mr. Burke
This month our school community has been focusing on the character trait of self-control. Self-control means you can control your emotions and behaviors. You think before you act. Self-control is the act of managing behavior in a way that helps you reach goals. Possessing this strength protects people from emotional extremes. Those with self-control can limit impulsive behavior. They are able to experience and navigate difficult situations while remaining poised. Self-control does not mean a lack of thoughts, feelings, or impulses; it just means you have command over them.
To practice and understand what self-control is, Mrs. Apap and I held a ½ hour workshop for each class on the topic of self control. We explained the importance of self-control at school, home, on the bus, and anywhere else the kids may be.
Each teacher, bus driver, and many support staff nominate one student who demonstrates self-control to be the Hound of the Month. Each month these nominated students get a pancake breakfast prepared by myself and Mrs. Apap. We are lucky to have Dr. Campbell join these hounds for breakfast to celebrate the great things these students are doing.
Please talk about self-control with your kids, as the more they hear about self-control at home and at school, the more they will understand its importance and take ownership of maintaining their own self control.
Thank you for your partnership as we work together to help our students be the best they can be.
