"Advising Student Groups and Organizations" is a national best practice book used to assist student organizations and advisors in identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and continued areas of growth. Developed by leading researchers in the field of student organizations, Norbert W. Dunkel, John H. Schuh, and Nancy E. Chrystal-Green, the book is a tool to guide student organizations and advisors in self-reflection, evaluation, and improvement of their organizations.

The Office of Student Involvement & Leadership owns two copies of this text that are open for all student organizations and advisors to utilize. In the text there are valuable interactive tools that all are encouraged to make copies of and use.

Advisor of the Month

The Advisor of the Month is Ben Davies, advisor to Mages Guild. This month Mages Guild joined the Collegiate Video Gaming League, which is an exciting initiative for the organization. They have been consistent with their events all year and providing a broad array of events for students. Ben stepped in as their advisor this fall and has done a great job of challenging them to be better in a variety of ways including helping them become more fiscally responsible.
