Thank You!
It's hard to believe that we are already a week and a half into school! While we do still have a few things to work out and adjust, the days are starting to roll a little smoother now. This is in large part due to each of you! So, thank you for all your hard work to get things going and for being flexible and making adjustments as needed.
Things to Note:
Insurance
- In early August, Box Cox sent information to ALL users of evdio.org regarding insurance for the 2015-16 school year. Additionally, some members of the Holy Trinity Catholic School Staff will see a change in the dental insurance, as the monthly employee contribution rates will be the responsibility of the employee, not the school, as has been done in the past for some employees. This discrepancy was just discovered and we apologize for this. If you have questions regarding this, please see myself or Fr. Gary (when he returns). The enrollment forms were included with the email from Bob Cox and pertains to staff who work 30+ hours in a week. Any new employees who meet the criteria and wish to enroll, as well as those who were previously employed by one of our merger schools who wish to change their selections must have those forms turned into Mrs. Angie Welp at East Campus by Monday, August 31st.
- Additional insurance policies will be offered through Aflac this year. A representative will be here to give an overview for staff at our September faculty meeting.
- Along the same note, enrollment forms are available for the 403b Retirement Plan, which all employees are eligible for. If you wish to enroll, please complete the forms and return to Mrs. Angie Welp, Central Campus, by Monday, August 31st.
Safety and Security
Mr. Lemen is in the process of updating our Crisis Manuals, including procedures for our safety evacuations. However, we are quickly approaching the end of the month and thus we will need to run a fire drill at each campus by Monday, August 31st. Please be on the watch for the fire drill evacuation procedures and review with students so they are not scared by the alarm.
TechnologyWe have scheduled a few dates for staff training on Sycamore. This will cover your classroom functions, such as grade book, lesson plans, classroom calendar, etc. Due to the nature of how classes are structured in Sycamore, we have set the following dates:

Funeral
We have a funeral on Wednesday of this week and we are trying to work out the best plan to accommodate the funeral and the school, due to seating with chairs/benches, preschool arrival, etc. After we see how this goes, you may have suggestions and we may need to make further adjustments.- Morning Recess - Pre-K, K will need to sit in the East end of Endress Hall outside of the preschool rooms. 1st and 2nd will need to sit in the cafeteria at the tables. ALL students need to bring with them quiet activities - board games, puzzles, books, etc.
- Bereavement Meal - will be in the gym and the committee will use the auxiliary kitchen to prepare the meals and transport them over.
- Lunch - students will still sit in the cafeteria as normal.
- Lunch Recess - We are going to try to go outside to the playground area only using the flagpole doors to come in and go out, as we should be in between the funeral and the bereavement meal. No balls, etc should go out. Those on duty need to be extra vigilant for cars. Please try to keep the visits to the office at a minimum. If a student needs to come in, a teacher on duty needs to escort them across the parking lot.
Maintenance
I am asking for your help with a few items:
- Please stack your chairs at the end of the school day, and
- Please maintain your classroom cleanliness by picking up items and trash off the floors.
West Campus:
Thanks for getting preschool off to a great start at West Campus!

Advisory Groups
- You will be receiving student lists for Advisory Groups, or your "Family of Saints" in your email tonight/tomorrow morning.
- This Thursday, your "Family of Saints" should begin to determine which Saint you would like to be named for. Each teacher should enter their Saint name on the google doc, which will also be sent to you via email, so that you can see the Saints who have been chosen.
