August 18th Update

Adventure Awaits!

I'd like to start this update thanking everyone for their patience and understanding as we do our best to accomplish all the tasks required before the start of school. The numerous decisions and plans to effectively and safely start this school year have kept us all very busy. We look forward to seeing students in our building on Thursday and Friday of this week.

Our school theme this year is Adventure Awaits, which is very appropriate for this time we are currently experiencing. I've included a link at the bottom for our new music teacher, Jessica Tate, which I'm sure you will enjoy.

For the Car Rider Plus program, to our digital programs, device checkout for all students and everything else that we are trying to incorporate this school year, we realize that everyone is spread thin at this point. We will do our best to make it all come together and I feel confident great things will happen over the course of this school year. A lot of things will look different from the A/B schedule, masks, and limits to people entering the building. Our commitment to the student success and their learning will, however, remain at the front of our focus.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding. Let the Adventure begin!

Big picture

Meet Your Child's Teacher

Tonight you will receive an email from your child's teacher. They will be introducing themselves to you, discussing some information regarding the first of school, reminding you about the lanyards that were handed out last week. They will also explain the information that needs to be written down on the card inside the lanyard, which will help us get students to their classroom as we start the school year.

Meet The Teacher - When you uploaded your address back in July, you were taken to a form where you could sign up for meeting the teacher. That will take place tomorrow during the times listed below. The first two sessions, 12:30 to 1:15 and 1:30 to 2:15, are virtual and you should receive a link that will take those that signed up for one of these slots later tonight.

The there are also 4 times, 2:30 to 3:15, 3:30 to 4:15, 4:30 to 5:15, and 5:30 to 6:15 where you could come and meet the teacher. It is very important that we limit the number of people coming to the meet the teacher in person is only reserved for one parent and the student. Please make sure to wear masks, we will conduct temperature checks before entering the building. It will also be important to maintain social distancing during this meeting time, and we want to make sure that everyone goes directly to the meeting location, not roaming around the building. Teachers will tell you the time that you've signed up for Meet the Teacher tonight in an email. Those meeting times were created on purpose to limit the number of students in the building at one time, so please adhere to those times.
