BJH Bobcat News
August 14-18, 2023
Welcome to the 2023-24 school year! I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer break spending quality time with family and friends. It was nice seeing many students and their families at registration. I enjoyed hearing about summer adventures and what students are looking forward to the most this school year. I want to thank our BJH staff for all their efforts in ensuring that we are prepared for your students. Support staff, custodians, teachers and the administrative team worked hard cleaning our campus, finalizing registration and organizing classrooms among many other tasks. We look forward to partnering with you to ensure your student has a productive and engaging school year.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
The first day of school is Monday, August 14th. School starts at 8:15 am. If you have not done so already, please remember to register your student using the Aeries Parent Portal. If you log on and are unable to view your student's class schedule please fill out the Data Confirmation Page in Aeries. This ensures there are no missed documents that require updating. Once that is completed, you should be able to view the class schedule. There will be BJH staff members (inside and outside of the school) available to assist students on the first day of school. Staff members will be able to give students who missed registration their registration folder and temporary student ID card.
All students must bring their temporary ID card that was provided for you during registration. This card will be used for a multitude of things. They will receive a permanent ID card once Lifetouch pictures are completed.
Lifetouch pictures will be taken this Thursday, August 17th. Students will come to the Lifetouch photo stations during their scheduled P.E. class. Students do not dress out this week for P.E. so they can feel free to wear the outfit of their choice for picture day. Each student received a picture envelope in their registration folder with more information. .
NEW STAFF MEMBERS
You will notice that there are new staff members at BJH. We are excited to welcome our new team members. We are also excited that Greg Lamp is now officially the BJH Assistant Principal. Below are pictures of the new staff as well as their bio.
Our ASB selected the theme of "Reach for the Stars." Students, staff and families are encouraged to reach for the stars in everything we do this school year. This means that we will work collectively to ensure that our campus is a fun and engaging place to work and learn. Reaching for the Stars means recognizing that with a growth mind set and positivity we can accomplish anything. Together, there is no limit to what we can do.
There will be times this year that you need to communicate or ask a question. This summer the admin team updated our admin team roles and responsibilities. Questions concerning social-emotional needs, course change requests and grades should be communicated with our counselors. Questions about other topics should be communicated with Mrs. Cole and Mr. Lamp.
