A Message from Principal Reed
Greetings Ramsey Families,
As we welcome the new trimester, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our Ramsey Families for continually supporting your student’s education. We place great value on the partnership between home and school, as this is a key factor in your student’s academic, social and emotional success.
We are excited to build on our Wildly Important Goals this trimester by supporting our students with recognizing the benefits of setting and reaching their academic goals through the 4DX process:
- Focus on the Wildly Important
- Act on the Lead Measures
- Keep a Compelling Scoreboard
- Create a Cadence of Accountability
We will continue to focus on fostering a Growth Mindset, which allows students to see the direct benefits that their attitude and effort play into their success as learners. Thank you for continually encouraging your student(s) to revisit their progress toward their learning goals and celebrating their success. We look forward to sharing your student(s) progress during our upcoming Student Led Conference Evenings on February 16th, 21st and 23rd.
Sincerely,
Dr. Amy Reed
Principal

Level 3, Lesson 13: Personal Mission Statements
Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind® teaches us that if we know our desired result, we can ensure the steps we take move us in the right direction. Creating a personal mission statement starts by identifying the timeless, unchanging principles that are important to us. In this lesson, your child will learn how to begin to write a personal mission statement.
Use the questions below to engage your child in a conversation:
BEFORE THE LESSON:
• If someone were describing you, what words would you like them to use?
AFTER THE LESSON:
• If your personal mission statement guides your actions, how often do you think you should read it?
• Where will you keep your personal mission statement?
OPTIONAL ACTIVITY:
• Together with your child, discuss the following examples of personal mission statements:
o Always be my best.
o The future is mine.
o I will be kind to all living things.
o I can do difficult things.
o I will be a good friend.
o I will work hard and get better.
• Discuss whether any of the statements (or a variation of) reflect the values they chose during the
activity.

Parent Engage 360
Episode 28: Anti-bullying and discipline
Bullying is a topic that often arises, and is not always easy to discuss as a parent or guardian. Parents may be wondering how to support their child, what questions to ask, or who to talk to at school to help.
In the latest episode of the Parent Engage 360 Podcast, host Liz Burgard, Anoka-Hennepin parent involvement coordinator, is joined by Britt Olean, district school social worker, and Mary Kling, assistant principal of the Compass program overseeing elementary student conduct and discipline, to share information on how Anoka-Hennepin defines bullying and how parents can help support their children if they suspect bullying is happening.
Also in this episode, Olean shares the role of school social workers in the district and how they support students in a variety of ways.
Tune in to the latest Parent Engage 360 Podcast on Podbean, Apple Podcasts, or at ahschools.us/parentengage360.
The Parent Engage 360 Podcast aims to provide parents and guardians with knowledge from experts in chemical health, mental health, internet safety and more, as well as the tools needed to support their children. Anoka-Hennepin hopes that providing timely and helpful information through the Parent Engage 360 podcast series will strengthen the bond between school and home with resources parents and guardians can use and share with others.

Winter Weather Reminders!
Winter weather reminders
Minnesota weather is shifting gears, and the Anoka-Hennepin School District has plans in place for when extreme winter weather arrives.
The safety of all students is the first priority when determining if schools should stay open in adverse weather. If a determination is made to close school due to extreme winter weather, the district will alert families in a variety of ways, including:
Phone, text or email message from AHlert system (for Anoka-Hennepin parents/guardians only).
District and school websites.
District and school social media pages (e.g. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
Media outlets including WCCO, KSTP, FOX 9, KARE 11, CCX Media, WCCO radio and Star Tribune newspaper.
Those responsible for activities scheduled in schools over the weekend will determine if adverse weather conditions necessitate a cancellation.
Read more about the district’s policies on extreme winter weather at ahschools.us/weather.
Report Student Absences Online
Parents/guardians can share online when their student is going to be absent or arriving late through the My Student Information app via A-HConnect or in the ParentVUE mobile application. You can still call the school at 763-506-4006 and leave a message, this is simply a convenient alternative.
Report student absences daily prior to 10:30am to avoid receiving an unverified email or phone call.
