CMS Football Wins!!!
The CMS JV Trojans started the season in a game against Fegely Middle School. The Trojan’s first drive
ended with Max Quiroz scoring a touchdown. Max Soffin scored on a 40-yard run and Colin McCoy ran
in a touchdown. Zane Westerlund and Kaiden Sherwood controlled the line of scrimmage defensively
making the score 22-6. The Indians mounted a comeback and scored a touchdown making it 22-14. Near
the end of the 4th quarter, the Indians had the ball with a chance to tie. The defense led by Tyler
Dhaemers, Jacob Hemphill, and Max Prince squashed whatever chance Fegely had. CMS plays
Willowcreek next Tuesday.
Wednesday night the CMS Varsity football team shut out the Braves of Fegley Middle School 8 – 0. The
Trojan Defense was dominated, only allowing 24 total yards in the whole game. Roberto Stabolito
ended a Braves drive inside the 20-yard line when he recovered a fumble. Not to be out done, Enrico
Ortega-Chick stopped a Fegley drive late in the second quarter when he too recovered a fumble.
Michael Rone made an instant impact as he came into the game in the third quarter and intercepted a
pass from Fegley. To end the game Collin Kellogg, Benni Rivera, and Lucas Anderson downed the Fegley
quarterback in the end zone for a safety. The offense was led by the tough running of Antonio McLemore
as he piled up yards and scored the lone touchdown of the game. Other key players on offense were
Collin Kellogg, Andrew Goveia, and the offensive line anchored by Carolos Leon, Bobby Spencer, and
Tyler Nevious. The Trojans move to 1 – 1 on the season and will travel to Portage on Tuesday September 14th to take on the Warriors of Willowcreek Middle School.
