A Message from Mr. Reeser
I am excited to update our staff and families on some of our newest hires!
Front Desk Secretary:
We have hired Kathryn Kosho to replace Paula Johnson as our front desk secretary. We are sad to see Paula go and have appreciated her serving the staff and families of HomeLink the past three years. Kathryn joins our team from Libby Middle School where she has served as the ASB secretary. Kathryn visited our school last week and was excited for the opportunity to work here. She will be in periodically training with Paula the next couple of weeks, so please welcome her to our team when you see her.
Elementary STEM Teacher:
As many of you know, we’ve had several staff working with our LEGOs, Robotics, and coding classes the past couple of years. I announced earlier this year that we would be seeking to find a highly qualified teacher to take on the role of teaching all of these classes and provide alignment to our middle and high school CTE offerings ensuring students have the opportunity to have a deep understanding of these classes before moving on. We are excited to announce that we have hired Quinn Donlon as our new teacher. Quinn joins us from the Naselle School District where he has worked the past three years as a K-12 principal. Prior to that, Quinn taught for 11 years at Columbia School District and provided training as a local STEM coordinator at the ESD. He was also a recipient of the Crystal Apple Award for his contributions STEM. Quinn has a strong background in STEM instruction and we are confident his skills will serve our students and families well.
K-12 English Language Arts Teacher:
We have been searching for a highly qualified ELA teacher to teach the classes previously taught by Mrs. Peck and Mrs. Meredith. Mrs. Peck will be moving into a consultant role next year replacing Steve McLain who will be retiring at the end of the year. Mrs. Meredith will be teaching more music classes next year instead of teaching the one section of high school English she had this year. We are excited to announce that we have hired Tara Affholter to teach our language arts classes next year. Tara joins us from Ellensburg School District where she has taught for the past 22 years. Tara has a rich understanding of ELA and is very passionate about getting students excited about writing. Tara has served as a district writing trainer, served as a mentor for CWU teachers, and has participated in the development of writing curriculum. We believe Tara will be a great addition to our team and look forward to her serving. Tara plans to visit HomeLink next week to get to know our students and observe a couple of ELA classes. In addition, she plans to join us in June for our Buck Institute follow-up training.
Those are all of our updates for now and we hope you join us in our excitement for our new team members!
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at our end of year events and wish you the best this summer!
Sincerely,
Tyler Reeser, Principal
