Week 2, Term 2
Principal's Message
Welcome back to Term 2, I hope you all had a relaxing Easter break.
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your continued support and co-operation regarding the attendance strategy implemented by the Ministry of Education. Your dedication to ensuring your children attend school regularly has been instrumental in promoting a culture of attendance and punctuality in our school, and has contributed to the overall success of our students.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our staff for the various lunchtime activities that they have started providing for our students. The Lego Club, Connectors Building Club, EnviroGarden, Passive Classes, Bike Track, Knitting Club, Physical Activity Leaders running games at lunchtime, Jump Jam, and a Learning Catch Up space for senior students are providing valuable learning opportunities and fun experiences for our children. Their dedication and commitment to organising and leading these activities is greatly appreciated. The lunchtime options help to foster a sense of community and belonging among our students. Their contributions to our school community are immeasurable, and we are fortunate to have such passionate staff members.

Community Feedback Survey
As a school we’ve been on a Professional Development journey to grow our teaching practice to ensure we foster cultural relationships with all of our learners. As part of our learning, we require feedback from a range of sources: parents/whānau, students and staff. Your children will be completing the survey at school if they are in Year 4-8.
Rongohia te Hau is a survey that was developed to better understand the experiences of young people in Aotearoa New Zealand. The data gathered provides valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that young people are facing in today's society. By participating in this survey, we all have the opportunity to share our thoughts and experiences on a wide range of topics, including mental health, education and relationships.
The survey is multi-choice, with only one optional box to leave further comments and takes no more than 5 minutes. All responses are completely anonymous. We’d love to hear from as many whānau as possible so please spare us a few minutes. Here is the survey link or if you require access to a device we will have some set up at the office for you to use.
Once you’ve completed the survey, please email a screenshot or photo of the ‘survey submitted’ page to Geraldine (admin@hautapu.school.nz) to go into the draw to win a $100 grocery voucher.
