Girls on the Run Registration Kicks Off!
Online Girl Registration can be found here: GOTR 2019 Program Registration
If you have a daughter in 3rd-5th grade, you definitely want to look into this wonderful opportunity! We are planning on two teams. Each team is limited to 15 girls. The girls will be meeting on M/W or T/Th from 3:50-5:25 p.m. Girls on the Run is a curriculum based, after-school character development program designed for 3rd-5th grade girls of ALL fitness levels. The 10-week curriculum attempts to help each girl find and stay true to her REAL self. Groups of 8 to 15 girls meet twice a week with their trained, volunteer coaches to discuss important life lessons while playing fun running games. Girls on the Run emphasizes independent thinking, making healthy choices, healthy group dynamics and problem solving. The curriculum stresses peer support and doing your best. The program finishes with the girls running or walking in a non-competitive 5K. The program runs March 6th -June 1st after school. The registration fee is $165. Scholarships are available on a sliding scale with a $5 minimum.

Alamo Christmas Blessings
Alamo will once again be adding a little Christmas cheer to local family’s holiday season. Please join us in sponsoring a family for the 2018 Christmas season.
Starting on Monday, November 19th you will find our Alamo Angel Tree in the lobby outside the cafeteria. On that tree will be ornaments with gift ideas for families. You may take whatever ornaments you'd like from the tree. We're asking that all items be returned to the school no later than Wednesday, December 12th. Please do NOT wrap the items. Please be sure to include the ornament with your present so we know to which family member it belongs.
Please contact Nicole Knight-Lucas or Robbin Williams with any questions. 269-694-7600 or nknight-lucas@otsegops.org. Gift cards and monetary donations to go toward gifts are also welcomed. Thanks!
Thank you for your generous gift of giving!
We will be wrapping all the presents for the families. If you can help we would love it! Wrapping will be on December 17th & 18th from 8:30 - 11:30.
Holiday Gift Shop
The holiday gift shop is back! December 10th-13th.
The Penguin Patch Holiday Shoppe allows students to shop for their family during school hours. Students can easily purchase five or six inexpensive gift items for their loved ones. It’s one of the few times $10 is more than enough.
We will need some volunteers to help kids shop and total them up. The store will run from December 10-13 from 9:00-12:00 (Wednesday will be 10:00-12:00).
Click here to volunteer to work the holiday gift shop - Penguin Patch Store
More information will be sent home with your child shortly.
Destination Imagination Needs Your Support
Alamo's Destination Imagination is looking for a company sponsor to help support their journey. The team will be holding monthly fundraisers throughout the year and is looking for a company that would be willing to match the amount raised per fundraiser. Sponsoring companies will have their name/logo printed on the team's shirts and acknowledged in the school newsletter. If you are interested in helping out the Alamo Destination Imagination team or know of a business that would be, please contact Terry Webber at twebber@otsegops.org or call 269-694-7600.
