From the Middle EMS and ELA
News from the Principal, 5/6/19
Hello Parents and Families,
Another week has flown by. I'm sending this news a little early because we have a lot coming up and not much time left in the school year. Please read below about all the important upcoming activities.
The dance last Friday was a great end to our week. Our leadership students have worked very hard this year to make the dances and spirit weeks a lot of fun for all our students at EMS and ELA.
We are starting to see an increase of parents dropping off and picking up their students at TEC in the back off of Lehigh Ave during bus drop off & pick up. So the busses can use the east parking lot between 3:35 and 4:00 pm, we'd like parents to pick up in front of EMS and EHS off Logan or along the side of the high school on Mansfield. Thank you for helping us keep our parking lots safe and accident free.
Over the last month we have been running a GPA challenge. All EMS students and ELA students are participating in the challenge according to their grade level.
We are asking students to calculate their GPAs during the homeroom/CCR classes to see which grade level has the highest GPA. We are excited to see the results of this competition as we close out the school year. You can ask your student about his/her GPA and how this has been changing over the last several weeks.
Have a great week!
~Annessa Hart, Principal

Extracurricular Highlights--Boxing Club
Each Thursday during 7th period, some of our students from EMS as well as students from Charles Hay visit TOS Boxing Gym. Last week they got to meet #34 Will Parks of the Denver Broncos! He talked to our kids about working hard for what you want, respecting every single person you meet and how everyone around you is family, so look out for them. It was a surprise that he was there and so awesome for our kids! Thanks to our staff who help make this opportunity possible for our students.
