Katherine Applegate Author Visit
On Wednesday, October 4th Katherine Applegate will present her new book, Wishtree, to an audience of over 500 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders from Sunset Valley, Galindo, St. Elmo, and Joslin elementaries at 9:30am in the Sunset Valley cafeteria.

-Student Council officers worked to write an introduction for Katherine Applegate author visit.
-Library lessons: US Celebrate Freedom Week (9/11), Hispanic Heritage month, book care, searching the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), and building enthusiasm for Wishtree.
-Professional development: best practices for preschoolers in the library, and cataloging.

11/3 SVE Kid's Lit Book Club- We will be discussing Wishtree and sharing any other titles read this month.
In the library we will be learning: how to access eBook resources, continuing Hispanic Heritage, Austin ISD Pride week, review check out procedures, book care, and finding books using the OPAC.
