You Just Never Know....
Two days off due to rain, very unexpected! Damage around the school is not too bad, and Stacy has already put in work orders for some of the leaks, but let us know right away if you see new leaks on your ceilings, etc. I walked around on Wednesday and made note of a few things, but I am not living in your rooms and may not have seen everything you see. As I walked around rooms, I did see some evidence of student-centered learning, great planning, management of the flexible seating options, student work displayed, and safe, clean, learning environments. You all are on top of it!
This week is our anniversary celebration on the 28th! Grade level chairs, please send me your team plans for that day in regards to utilizing STEM and Technology. Keep in mind that it's No Worksheet Wednesday. Teachers and staff are encouraged to dress up like their decade or if you do not have your own classroom, you can choose your favorite decade. If you do not do that, please dress professionally as we will have school board members, community leaders, and senior leadership people attending that day. The regularly scheduled W.O. W. day will resume October 4th.
Thank you for all you do and have a great weekend,
Beth :)

GIVING BACK
How does GIVING BACK work?
For each new loan VBSFCU finances, we donate money to a teacher or student in need of supplies for 2016-2017 school year! The more we lend, the more we donate.
Personal Loan – $5
Auto Loan - $10
Mortgage Loan - $25
*Loans must be new money only. 100% of the money raised will be given to winning parties. Programs runs July 1-October 31.
Since July, over $1,975 was raised by members for the #DoGood Teacher reimbursement program. If you haven’t heard of it, the program was designed to help our teachers offset their personal expenses for things like decorations for their classroom, necessary supplies, books, or other expenses. If they purchased their supplies already, they can turn in their receipts and we will reimburse up to the amount awarded.
Teachers and Staff do not have to be members of VBSFCU to qualify for the program. It’s open to everyone as a “THANK YOU” for being a great partner.
How Can Teachers Apply for the reimbursement? They can fill out the application or email us! For more information on the program, please click here: https://www.vbsfcu.org/accounts/do-good/
NEWS FROM STAFF WELFARE
Thanks to all have joined Staff Welfare. You may still join. Dues are payable by check (to John B. Dey) or by cash. Dues are $20 for full time teachers and specialists and $15 for TA's, Café Staff, Custodians and part-time staff. Payment may be given to Corinne Gabriel.
The Staff Welfare Calendar of Special Events will be posted in the Mailroom. Thank you again, to Beth & Robert Bianchi for hosting the1st Staff Welfare event of the 2016-17 School Year, our Annual Kick-off Party! It was a lot of fun and we had a great turnout! Thanks to ALL who helped with set-up, clean-up and assorted needed things for the party: Stacy Sedory, Debbie Cathey, Lynne Logan, Kelley Gangwer and Angela Frayne! Thanks to everyone who brought delicious appetizers and desserts to share!
We do have a change for the signup for Staff Welfare events for this year. An initial email will be sent by the Event Chairperson with details. After that, instead of multiple emails, we are asking folks to sign up in the mailroom for any item you would like to bring, if you attending, etc. The co-chairs will post sign up sheets. We hope this will make it easier on everyone! Feedback and comments are welcomed!
Thanks again for your time & support! It will be a fun year!
Lynne & Corinne
Your Staff Welfare Co-Chairs
