Staffing for Next Year
With numerous retirements, some additional allocations, and a few staff making changes in their personal lives, we have recommended a larger than usual number of candidates. We will miss our staff who is moving on to their next journey, and we welcome those who will be joining us. We'd like to offer a "Meet and Greet" for everyone so there is an opportunity to visit as a team and make introductions before summer arrives. Hopefully, this will give everyone a chance to connect with their new teammates and help to make the transition to 2019-2020 as smooth as possible. Whether the team is current Robison staff, or if it includes new staff, all are encouraged to attend. We will meet right after school on Thursday, May 23. Refreshments will be provided, and the agenda will include an introduction of all new staff with time to follow for teams to visit. I hope everyone will be able to attend, even if just for a few minutes.
Cara Kirkman (Pre-K para)-Hey everyone! My name is Cara Kirkman and I am new to Robison Elementary. I am super excited to be the pre-k para in Michelle Nixon’s class next fall. I have 2 years experience in PPCD at Owens Elementary. This is where I first met Michelle and fell in love with her as well as being in the classroom. I grew up in Dallas, then lived in Jacksonville Florida for 10 years before moving here 5 years ago.
I am a single mom to an amazing 11-year-old boy who is my world. His name is Cooper and will be attending Spillane in the fall. I have a love for sports, coffee, music, and the gym!! Purple is my favorite color and yoga pants are my go to. Also, I will never turn down a cheeseburger.
Rachael Walker (AB)-I’m really looking forward to joining the A. Robison Adaptive Behavior team this next school year! I’ve taught in Adaptive Behavior at Lee Elementary for the past four years, and prior to that I was a social worker primarily working with children and adults with both developmental disabilities coupled with behavioral concerns. I love what I do, and I’m so happy to join such a welcoming school…as well as moving so close to home! I’m married to my husband Scott, and we have three kids; Ethan (14), Elise (5), and Hayley (3), as well as our only dog, Aussie (also 14). In my spare time (hah…what’s that?), I like to take on “crafty” projects, spend time with my family, enjoy Netflix and “grape juice” on occasion, and work in the garden.
Colin Ham (AB para)-Hello! I'm Colin Ham, the new AB para, and I'm super excited to join the Robison team next year! I have one year experience in CyFair as an AB para and have worked the previous few years at Foundry Preschool. I left a career making scenery in NYC to marry my husband, Greg and together we have 2 boys (Jackson-12 and Cooper-11) that wrestle. In a way, I wrestle too!! lol
I like to dance, garden, make home improvements and decorate. I'm looking forward to a relaxing summer so I'll be in tip-top wrestling shape when September rolls around!
Samantha Gerron (4th)-My name is Samantha Gerron and I am so excited to join the 4th-grade team at A. Robison! This will be my 3rd year teaching. I have previously worked as a 5th grade ELA teacher at Emery Elementary in CFISD. My husband's name is Jordan and we have a 5-year-old son named Cohen. He is also excited to become a Rocket and begin his kindergarten year at this great school! I am originally from Chicago, so I am a huge Chicago Bears fan. I love going to the beach, spending time with my family, and reading.
Michelle Nixon (Pre-K)- I Love to work out, do Zumba, and I am a runner. I would love to host a class after school for Zumba next year if any staff is interested. The most important personal info about me is that I am an overly obnoxious Die Hard Florida Gator and obsessed with my dog Tim Tebow. Professionally, my passion is early childhood and presenting staff development and my greatest accomplishment in the district was writing the pre-k curriculum guide last summer.
Katie Todd Noble (PPCD)-I'm excited to join the PPCD team at A. Robison to kick off my tenth year of education! I previously worked as a Special Education teacher in Austin ISD and in Cy-Fair ISD at Fiest and Hoover. Last summer, I joined the training cadre as a Quantum Learning facilitator for the district. I am married to my husband Ricky, who is also a Cy-Fair teacher, and together, we have a three-year-old son named Ben and two dogs. My favorite color is green and when I'm not working, I enjoy live music, photography, and relaxing with my family.
Allison Hamling (PPCD)-I am so excited to join the Robison Rockets. I can’t wait to meet all of you in August. I will be bringing over 8 years of teaching experience, five of which have been dedicated to PPCD. When I am not busy with school, I love to spend time with my rambunctious 3-year-old daughter and husband.
Michelle Vicary (4th)-My name is Michelle Vicary. I live in Coles Crossing with my husband, Brent, our twin girls, Ashlyn and Taylor, and our dog Maddie Mae. We love Aggie football, good food, and hanging out with our family and friends. I have been an educator for 21 years in CFISD. During this time, I have worked at Matzke Elementary and Pope Elementary. My experience includes 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and administrative positions. I am excited to be joining the Robison family and meeting everyone.
Kellie Vozar (4th)-Hi, my name is Kellie Vozar. I'm so excited to be joining Robison next school year as a 4th grade Reading/LangArts teacher! I am coming from Tipps Elementary, where I have taught 4th grade the past three years. A little bit about me, I have a horse named Koda and a sweet dog named Dixie. In my free time, I love going indoor rock climbing, running, and competing in rodeos. I can't wait to get to know you all, and I'm looking forward to a fantastic school year!
Lauren Pawlak (3rd)-My name is Lauren Pawlak. I am so excited about becoming a Robison Rocket. I have been teaching for 10 years, most of those years in 3rd-grade math/science. When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family, friends, and working out with my Camp Gladiator community. Although I do not have any kids of my own yet, I have 3 nieces (one was just born on April 17th) and one nephew (another nephew is coming in August). I am so excited to see what next year brings!
