Yoga Vagabond
Marina discovered yoga at the age of 27 after a life of sports-playing and outdoor adventure. She was inspired to study and teach yoga after experiencing everything from freedom, openness and love, to anger, struggle and resistance while on her mat. She teaches an energizing, playful & creative Vinyasa class that integrates Anusara, Budokon & Tantric yoga approaches. She holds a BA in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley and is involved with various service-related projects. "Yoga is not just peace and bliss, rainbows and tutu's, yoga is an imitation of reality and reality can be ugly, cruel and all kinds of frustrating. We come to our mat over and over to deal with our shit, knowing that we may not find the answer; knowing that we are imperfect and flawed by nature and through our practice we find ways to cultivate a deeper understanding of these imperfections. Through yoga, we create mindfulness, and it is through this mindfulness that we are able to connect to the larger fabric into which all things are weaved, and thus we are able to live more truthfully and potently for and with ourselves and others"
