Orlando Science Schools Professional Development Day
Orlando Science Schools systems hosted a joint systemwide professional development day to start a great school year on Monday, August 5th at the Majestic event center. All staff from Osceola Science and Seminole Science schools had also joined OSS in this professional development and systemwide gathering. This is the first time we have had a meeting with all the campuses together and it went well! We started the day with a continental breakfast and a meet and greet followed by our general meeting to discuss STEM Certification Standards, the 6 C's of Education for the Twenty-first Century, and some exciting technology teaching items, Florida Professional Educators Code of Ethics and Policies and 2019 FL Educational Legislative Updates. Awards were also given to all four principals for their FSA Scores, Accreditations, and Achievements. We all had a chance to network and learn from each other’s best practices. Enjoy the photos from our event.
OSS Middle High Orientation Day Scheudle Saturday, August 10th, 2019
We are very excited to start another great school year at Orlando Science! I would like to welcome each one of you to the 2019-20 educational year! This letter is to inform you that Orlando Science Middle/High will be holding its Orientation Day on Saturday, August 10th, 2019, with the first day of school being Monday, August 12th, 2019.
The main purpose of Orientation Day is to establish warm, personal, first day contact with students and families initiating a strong foundation between Orlando Science and our families that we serve. By having an Orientation Day, I believe that we are providing students and our parents with information and services that will make the first day “Back to School” more productive and convenient.
During Orientation Day, you will have the following opportunities:
a. Meet with the teachers of your student.
b. Receive your student’s class assignments, course syllabus, agenda, locker combinations, car rider numbers, and other important information.
c. Pay your $20 school fee which covers student locker, agenda, and student ID.
d. Sign up for the Parent Volunteer Organization (PVO) and view volunteer opportunities at OSS.
e. Sign-up for clubs.
f. Gently pre-worn school uniform sale.
g. Receive your pre-purchased EPI® School Pack.
h. Register for the Free/Reduced Lunch program in media center.
i. Review safety and security procedures and learn more about the FortifyFL® application.
