A big thanks to all of you who participated in the annual CCA Teacher Feedback and School Climate Survey. The data collection window is now closed and the data is being reviewed. Feedback received for teachers will be used in their performance evaluations for the year. The administration and the SAC will be looking at the Climate data. Based on your responses, appropriate actions will be taken immediately, if necessary. The data will be compiled and shared with the CCA Board, the SAC, and with the CCA community, in adherence to confidentiality laws, at the May Town Hall.

Each year in May, CCA holds an election for our Board of Directors. There will be 3 open positions. 2 of the requirements to be considered as a CCA Board member are:

1. Potential candidates must attend a minimum of two (2) regular CCA Board meetings during the nine (9) months prior to the April Board meeting. The February & March Board meetings are eligible meetings for this requirement.

2. Potential candidates must interview with at least one (1) current Board member prior to the nomination form submittal deadline.

January is School Board Appreciation Month! We need your help, we are looking for a Recess/Lunchroom Supervisor to work with us here at CCA! Instead of volunteering, you could come and join the team! We recently had a delay due to snow - did you get notified via email or text? If not, you will want to go into your my.cherrycreek account which can be found by going to the Cherry Creek School District Website and clicking on Mycherrycreek and update your parent forms with the correct information.

We also will have an upcoming election and you will ONLY receive your ballot via your email entered in powerschool, (that comes from your parent forms) so please make sure this is the correct email address.

We have a limited amount of Hot Spots available to those students who are unable to come to school due to illness. Hot Spots provide WIFI for your student so they do not get logged off if they are doing online work. If you are interested please complete this form: HotSpot Consent Form.

Dear Gifted Learning Teachers and Spelling Bee Sponsors,

Due to the continued spread of the Omicron variant and the significant substitute shortage, we need to adjust the dates of the District Spelling Bee. We will be moving the District Spelling Bee to the following dates and times.

District Spelling Bee – NEW DATES/TIMES/LOCATIONS

• Written Bee will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 8 am – 1:00 pm (approximately) at our Student Achievement Resource Center (SARC) located at 14188 East Briarwood Avenue, Centennial, CO 80112
• Oral Bee will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from approximately 11:00 am – 3:30 pm at our Student Achievement Resource Center (SARC) located at 14188 East Briarwood Avenue, Centennial, CO 80112

This survey will determine how many teams will form and commit to participating in the Middle School Esports League Spring Major 2022 tournament. Members must purchase their games to join tournaments.

Based on these survey results, Esports club meet days CAN change from Wed -Thurs- Fri to Tues-Wed-Thur. Ms.Ochoa will notify Parents/Guardians of any date changes on January 31st, 2022.

Esports starts @ 3:25 pm after school Wednesday - January 26th, 2022.

Players who are not participating in tournaments must be picked up at 4:45 pm no later than 5 pm. VERY STRICT PICKUP TIMES. 2 strikes, and you are out.

Each year we do a graduation video featuring your child and we need your help collecting images for that video. Please fill out this short google form about your graduating 8th grader where you will submit 1 baby/toddler photo and 1 current photo of your student for the video. Thank you in advance for helping us celebrate your children!

New Colorado legislation has prompted greater need to screen and document volunteers in our schools. Therefore, beginning January 2022, we must ensure that every person entering CCA must have a CCA staff badge or a visitor badge printed from the Raptor System. Please be sure to have your identification on you so that you can share that with Ms. Sadie if you need to enter CCA. Using the raptor system Ms. Sadie will then print a Raptor ID badge for you.

CCSD is also requiring that every volunteer complete a brief application to support activities in CCSD schools. This application links directly to CCSD's raptor system.

This is a great opportunity if you love to play chess, are maybe really great at it, and would like to participate. COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11: The FDA and CDC have approved the Pfizer Pediatric COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5-11. CCSD will host several vaccine clinics for families who choose to vaccinate their children. These clinics will offer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine doses, COVID-19 vaccines for those 12 years and older and COVID-19 vaccine boosters. Some clinics will also offer flu shots. COVID-19 testing: No-cost COVID-19 testing is available at the COVIDCheck Colorado testing site at the Instructional Support Facility, located at 5416 S. Riviera Way.
