WELCOME BACK for another year of learning! It has been a wonderful first week of school.
We had our fire drill on Thursday, September 1st in the presence of the Assistant Fire Marshal and Trumbull Police. All of the students did a really nice job following the rules and exiting the building in a timely and safe manner.
Thursday, September 8th - BACK to SCHOOL NIGHT!! This is for parents ONLY.
Grades K-2 6:00-6:45pm
Grades 3-5 7:00-7:45pm
As we move closer to the fall, please take the time to fill out the TPS volunteer form for the 2022-2023 school year. In the interest of child safety, the Trumbull Public Schools runs a security check on people interested in volunteering in our schools. If you are interested in volunteering, please be sure to fill out the volunteer form:
https://www.trumbullps.org/Attachments/boe/volunteerforms201920.pdf and mail or drop it off at Middlebrook School so it can be processed. All submitted forms need to have an original signature, therefore forms can not be emailed or faxed. Be sure to:
- Submit forms with the original signature (no emailed or faxed forms will be accepted)
- Fill out both pages of the form 6 to 8 weeks prior to time of volunteering
- Be sure to complete all sections of the form- If there is no information to provide, please write “N/A”. For example, father's maiden name needs to be filled in with N/A. (do not leave any cells blank or it will be returned back to us.)
- Send completed forms to Middlebrook School, 220 Middlebrooks Avenue, Trumbull, CT 06611
This week our teachers and students were working on Building a Math Classroom. What does that mean, you ask? Through class discussions students were able to establish: What a math classroom looks like, sounds like and feels like? Please take a minute to ask your child some things they discovered about a math classroom. Students also learned about, What it means to be a good mathematician? Good mathematicians can work collaboratively, be good listeners and communicators, organize their work and show their mathematical thinking.
Kindergarten and first grade teachers are using the math resource, Bridges In Mathematics, click the link for more information. https://www.mathlearningcenter.org/families/bridges2
Second, third, fourth, and fifth grade teachers are using Eureka Math Squared, click the link for more information. https://greatminds.org/math/eurekamath/families
Thank you to all our families that pick-up for dismissal. We appreciate your patience during the first week as we transitioned back to school.
Have a wonderful long weekend!
