We strongly encourage you to bring your child to these conferences. Their active involvement is key to ownership of their learning and cultivating a champion mindset. These conferences provide a unique opportunity for students to take charge of their academic achievements with your guidance and support.

College and Career Spirit Week! (Oct 16-19)
Get ready to show your spirit and celebrate your future during our exciting Career and College Spirit Week, starting Monday! Join us for a week filled with fun, enthusiasm, and pride in your future endeavors. Here's a breakdown of the themed days:
Monday: College Apparel Day
Wear your favorite college apparel to showcase your aspirations for higher education and your future alma mater.
Tuesday: Military Apparel/Color Day
Show your support for our armed forces by wearing military apparel or the colors of your preferred branch:
- Army: Green and White
- Marine Corps: Red and Gold
- Navy: Blue and Gold
- Coast Guard: Orange and White
- Air Force: Blue and White
Wednesday: Dress as Your Future Occupation or Career Day
Get creative and dress up as the professional you dreamed of becoming when you were five years old. Let your imagination run wild!
Thursday: Michigan vs. Michigan State Day
Show your team spirit by wearing the colors and gear of your favorite Michigan or Michigan State team. Let's see which team has the most passionate supporters!

October is College and Career Month!
College and Military Visits

Junior and Senior Parent Night
Wednesday, Oct 25 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in the auditorium
Juniors, Seniors, and their parents are invited to attend this critical event filled with important senior dates, college and career preparation steps, overview of the financial aid process. Becky Powell from GRCC’s Financial Aid department will guide families through the process of filing for/receiving financial aid.
Apply Yourself! Hours
Mondays and Wednesdays in October (all hours except the 4th hour)
Seniors will get a pass from their teacher to come to the garage off the cafeteria to work on preparation for their next steps after high school. (College applications, sending transcripts/scores, applying for jobs, completing resumes, etc.). Counselors will be available for support.

All juniors, seniors, and their parents at invited to an event focusing on important senior dates, college and career preparation strategies, and an in-depth overview of the financial aid process.

Blood Drive on October 18
The National Honor Society, in collaboration with Versiti Blood Bank, will be hosting a blood drive right here at Cedar Springs High School.
Event Details:
Date: Wednesday, October 18
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Location: Cedar Springs High School
Who Can Donate:
Students aged 16 years or older are eligible to donate blood. Here are a few important points to note before you participate:
If you're 16 years old, a parent/guardian consent form (new for 2023) must be filled out prior to donating.
Students aged 16-18 must meet the height and weight requirements.
Remember to bring a photo ID.
Scheduling Your Donation:
To ensure a smooth process, students and staff can schedule their donation appointment online in advance.
Donation Experience:
Student donors will be marked field trips during their appointment time. The entire process, including checking ID, donation, rest, and snack time, will take approximately 45 minutes. We have gathered gift cards and prizes for participants from local businesses such as Thrive, Bigby, Tim Hortons, Uccellos, Hungry Howies, Olive Garden, and more!
