Grapefruit COVID Testing
Based on recommendations from the CDC, regular COVID screening helps protect students, staff and family members. It will allow us to catch potential positive cases early,
keep our classrooms open, and provide an important health resource for our community.
If you haven’t signed up yet, I strongly encourage you to do so and you can find the consent form link on the district website at www.unionsd.org (or below).

Elementary and Secondary School Education Relief
As part of the continued financial support provided by the federal government in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the American Rescue Place Act (ARP) was signed into law in March 2021 and provides grant funding known as the Elementary and Secondary School Education Relief, also known as ESSER. Our current grant cycle is ESSER III.
The purpose of ESSER III funding is to help schools safely remain open and to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on students. There are three focus areas included in the grant allocation: strategies for continuous and safe in-person learning, addressing the impact of lost instructional time, and meeting students' social, emotional, and mental health needs.
While Union School District receives substantially less than our surrounding districts, we are seeking input on how the minimal funding should be spent. Please complete the following survey by Sunday, September 19th at midnight to provide feedback on the allowable use of funding.
