Made by Jenny, Natalie, and of course ME!
Newton's First Law: Inertia
The Pop Car displays this law when we wind up the rubber band and let go. The rubber band forces the wheels to move, and with the rubber band it travels in a straight line. For inertia is the resistance of any physical object to a change in its state of motion or rest, or the tendency of an object to resist any change in its motion(the rubber band helps the car move)
Newton's Second Law: F=MA
The Pop Car displays this law because we took a light shoe box, and four wheels to make it move. Our first car was so heavy by all the paint and fluff, that it would just fall over and not move. With our new car, we put less paint and no fluff at all.
Newton's Third Law: Equal and Opposite
Our car displays this law because the rubber band pulls on the pencil, and when we let go the pencils helps push the car along. A force is a push or a pull upon an object that results from its interaction with another object.
Explain the process that you went through in order to make your vehicle travel faster and further.
To make our vehicle go faster and further, we used more robber bands. Our vehicle was already pretty fast, so all we needed to improve was lenght. Also to make our vehicle travel farther we made it lighter by no stuffing and less paint.
