School attendance is a critical component of your student's success in high school. Students are required to meet a specific amount of seat time to earn credit for their courses at GHS. If students have more than 4 unexcused absences in the term, they are in danger of losing credit for the course. Be sure to monitor your student's attendance via your Parent Portal (PowerSchool).

Being on time to class is important! When students are late to class, they miss valuable information and disrupt the learning environment for others. If students are tardy, they must receive a tardy slip from an administrator or the office. After 2 unexcused tardies in a class, the student will receive after-school detention. The first bell rings at 8:20, meaning students are tardy if not in their 1st block by 8:25.
