HFRCS Newsletter SY 2022-2023
September 20, 2022 - Vol.2 Issue 4
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our first full week of school went very well! We are working out the kinks with morning car arrival and afternoon carline is going very well. Busses continue to be a concern with arrival at school and arrival at home. We work on this consistently with our sending school districts. If you are having a bussing problem, please reach out to the school district and express your concerns. This, coupled with school contact, will be the most effective manner to correct any problem. It was also wonderful to welcome so many parents to our Back to School Nights last week. I hope everyone found the visit to be beneficial.
It is important that all our students in grades K-8 are dressed in proper school uniform. In this newsletter, we are sharing photos of proper school uniform. Please note that black sneakers must be an all-black sneaker with black laces and no markings. Socks also should be solid black for regular uniform or solid white for the gym uniform. Socks should be crew socks; no show socks are not permitted. Spiritwear shirts cannot be worn in place of the gym uniform tee shirt. Spiritwear is for dress down days or weekends. If you have a particular concern with the uniform, please contact your child’s teacher. Teachers will be vigilant about enforcing the school dress code. Thank you for your attention to school uniform.
This Friday, our Student Council is sponsoring their first $1 Dress Down Day! We are “going for gold” on Friday, September 23 in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The color gold symbolizes how precious children are and the resiliency of childhood cancer heroes. All proceeds will be donated to Childhood Cancer prevention and awareness. Students may wear gold or yellow to support this cause. We are also preparing our school families for the Pot of Gold Challenge that will be taking place in October. More information on the Pot of Gold Challenge in next week’s newsletter!
Next Tuesday, September 27, is Picture Day. Students must wear their school uniform. Students may wear either the summer or winter uniform, this is a parental choice. If your child has gym on Tuesday, your teacher will give directions about what to wear for gym that day. Please be on the lookout for picture order forms which will be coming home this week.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
