The struggle in the south
What caused this event?
The main reason is that the union were more agicultural focused compared to the confederacy which focuses on cotton and since the union blockaded the ocean. the confederates could not gain any profit for the cotton.
The citizens are angry that they are not able to get food and they are rioting.
Who is it effecting?
Effected the confederates, they did not have much food production.
The cost of food skyrocketed and people could no longer afford it. So they did whatever they could to obtain food.
Are there any positives to this event?
Happy days for the union!
If you are the union well then you are happy because the citizens might support the north instead of the south. It also shows that the unions plan to block them from getting any resources is working, so they'll continue to do it
