ICCS Mission Statement:
3RD-8TH GRADE ACT ASPIRE TESTING NEXT WEEK
Yes, it is that time of year again when students participate in Diocesan-wide standardized testing. Third through eighth-grade students will participate in ACT Aspire testing Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week. Throughout all of the recent challenges, our teachers have done an excellent job keeping our students on target and covering all grade-level standards and objectives. These tests are important in helping us ensure we are successfully serving each of our unique learners appropriately. Individual and classwide data is used to drive curriculum and classroom instruction.
Most imperative during the testing process (besides quiet hallways) is having every student in attendance each day, arriving on time with no scheduled appointments before 11:00 a.m. Standardized tests are tough and while we work hard to prepare our students academically, parents play a very important role in preparing their emotional and physical readiness. Here are a few tips to help your students handle test week successfully:
Explain that the test will show how much they have learned, encouraging them to try their best but without so much pressure that they feel stressed.
Limit activities the night before testing in order to avoid being out late. Be sure your student gets to bed on time and follows an unhurried morning routine.
On testing days, give them an energy-boosting breakfast. Minds work best when stomachs are content.
Working together will surely help all of our students do their best.

FEAST OF THE ANNUNCIATION MASS AND PROCESSION
Our 3rd-8th Grade students and faculty members celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation today by attending a school Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, followed by an indoor Eucharistic Procession and Rosary. The Mass and Procession were led by Father Rommel Tolentino and members of our 8th Grade Class of 2021.
The Mass and Procession were broadcast live on the ICCS Facebook page, Cathedral Facebook page and the Cathedral YouTube channel if parents or family members are interested in viewing the event.

A CHILD'S PRAYER TO ST. JOSEPH
As we continue to celebrate the "Year of St. Joseph," we would like to share a special prayer parents can say with their children during bedtime prayer time or throughout the day. St. Joseph, pray for us.
Dear St. Joseph, watch over me
and care for me
just as you cared for
the child Jesus;
and by your help,
may I come to know your Son,
and grow in strength
and wisdom and
the favor of God. Amen.

ICCS ALUMNI NAMED TO SLCHS SCHOLAR WEEK COURT
PRAYER AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS
O Mary, you shine continuously along our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the Cross were near to the pain of Jesus, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman people, know what we need, and we trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us, He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and took up our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.
We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
