Making cotton cleaning so easy!
In 1794, Elie Whitney invented the cotton gin, a machine that revolutionized the production of cotton by greatly speeding up the cleaning process. The invention enabled cotton farmers to move farther west to grow cotton. The cotton gin helped produced 300 pounds a day instead of one pound when the slaves would clean it with their hands.
