Hello Stallion Families,
We had another excellent albeit short week at the Ranch last week! Our classrooms are full of students working super hard each day. You can be proud of the effort they put in each day to in their studies. We have a full five day week ahead of us this week as we gear up for Read Across America Week and then Spring Break!
PTSO Principal for the Day
The Ranch was fortunate to have two amazing Principals' for the Day as a result of the PTSO fundraiser earlier this year! Principal Alfonso and Principal Mickenzie both did an amazing job. Each principal toured the school and even the chiller building out back. They visited classrooms and toured behind the scenes in the Ranch Cafe. We had a lock down drill and a fire drill and both principals enjoyed lunch provided by PTSO and some ping-pong on the principals table. What a great fundraiser!
Read Across America Week
Each year we celebrate all things reading and Dr. Suess during Read Across America Week. It will look differently than it has in years past. Student Council is now playing a big role in the week. STUCO will be selling Dr. Seuss masks starting Monday. There will be order forms going home and attached below. For each mask sold, a ticket will be put into a raffle. The person whose ticket gets pulled at the end of the week will get to turn Mr. Galvan into a sundae. How cool is that!
The week of Read Across America Week (March 1st-5th) STUCO planned for the following spirit days.
Monday 3/1 - Cat in the Hat Day (Wear a Hat Day)
Tuesday 3/2 - Dr.Seuss Day (Wear a Dr. Seuss Shirt or Black and Red)
Wednesday 3/3 - Wacky Wednesday (Mismatch clothes / Crazy Hair)
Thursday 3/4 - Thing 1 and Thing 2 (Find a friend and dress alike -Twin Day)
Friday 3/5 - If I Ran the Zoo (Animal Print /Dress like an animal and bring in a stuffed animal)

Masks
I need to ask all families to be sure their students have a mask with them when leaving for school. We are experiencing a high number of students who are repeatedly in need of a mask each day. I will be reaching out to those families directly. If everyone would make sure their students have a mask and water bottle each day, it would be greatly appreciated.
Do Not Come To School
I need to remind everyone that students should not come to school if they, or anyone in their household has tested positive for COVID. Students who are sick or feeling any COVID-like symptoms can’t be on campus.
Lunch (and breakfast) is Free
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended free meals for children 18 years and younger until further notice to help ensure all children have access to nutritious food as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gilbert Public Schools will provide combo meals at no cost to students for breakfast and lunch. A combo meal includes an entree, fruit and/or vegetable and beverage (milk and/or juice).
We certainly encourage our families to take advantage of this opportunity.
