Supper Club at Gayety's

Fall is here! But that doesn't mean you can't still have ice cream--you deserve a treat, and Gayety's is here to provide it! Come in for a spooky Halloween creation (or some plain delicious vanilla) on October 29 between Noon & 9:00 p.m., turn in the St. Ann voucher or show it on your phone, and our friends at Gayety's will donate back 10% of all St. Ann supporters’ dine in and carry-out purchases. You can enjoy your treat in the shop, at a pleasant outdoor table, or in the comfort of your own home. Please tell your friends! Vouchers can be downloaded and printed here. Share and invite your friends via the Facebook Event here.

School Picture Day Rescheduled!

In the interest of everyone's safety, we have postponed school photos until the spring. Thank you for understanding.

Halloween Dress-Down Day

All students and faculty are invited to dress down in Halloween colors and themed tees and headbands today.

E-Learning Enlightenment

  • All e-learners must remember to be patient when logging into your classrooms. Sometimes the teacher’s computer is frozen and needs to be restarted before you can log on.
  • When you are having computer difficulties at home, try restarting your computer and logging back on.
  • Do not share your passwords with anyone!
  • If you get an invite by your classmate to join a google class outside of class time, do not accept it. If you want to meet with your classmates outside of school, call them by phone or use another computer platform and another email account to avoid someone hacking into the school’s system.
  • We are monitoring all activity on the school’s site, so be careful of what you are writing in the chat box. We will contact parents and suspend a student’s account if they are not being a responsible digital citizen in our St. Ann’s platform.
  • Students are required to complete all of the classwork listed by your teachers in the Google Classroom. If a student is not attending classes or arriving late to class, it will be reported to the office and the principal will be contacting parents.
  • Remember, teachers are busy all day with students in their classrooms and online with other students, so they may not get back to you right away or have your grades when you want them. Your teacher will get back to you within 24 hours of your request so, again, be patient.

Device Advice

  • Cell phones should not be out of backpacks at all during the school day. Parents and others are not to contact students during school hours other than through the school office.
  • ALL devices should be turned off in school when not in use--this goes for Chromebooks in the classroom.
  • SAS devices and emails should be used for school purposes ONLY, which terms were clearly stated in the computer use policy all families signed at the beginning of the year. Thank you!

Dress Code Reminders

Uniform policy will be strictly enforced. Going forward, students who are out of dress code will be sent to the office for pick-up, or to wait for drop off of acceptable clothing.

  • If not wearing a plaid skirt or jumper, all students must wear black dress pants and a gray shirt. We have observed students wearing stretch pants, leggings, jeggings, or black jeans, which are not part of our uniform policy.
  • Pencil or tight and short skirts are also not allowed.
  • Students who wear pants must wear a black belt, and that includes students from 1st-8th grades.
  • Only St. Ann sweaters may be worn at school. If you do not have one, a student may wear a plain green sweater without any markings.
  • All socks must cover the ankles.
  • Uniform shoes must be all black, even if it is a gym shoe, and no marking of any other color can be on the shoe. Our gym day is every Wednesday, and students may wear any color gym shoe at that time.
  • If a student is not dressed properly for gym, he or she may not participate in class. If you do not have a gym uniform, then your student must wear plain dark green or black sweatpants (no leggings) or green or black shorts with a plain gray t-shirt. St. Ann’s has a number of gym pieces donated from students in prior years and grades; please contact Ms. Summerrise for details.

The Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Catholic Schools recently notified us that if we do not aggressively bring down our sizeable school deficit with some new sources of revenue, the future of our school will be in imminent jeopardy. To this end, the St. Ann School Board has launched the Angel Project, and you should have received a letter and pledge card in the mail this past week.

We are asking EVERYONE--school families, friends, faculty & staff, parishioners, alumni, and community supporters--to pitch in on this effort and make a pledge. We are seeking donors to contribute at any level they are comfortable, but also hoping to gather many $1,000 or higher pledges as quickly as possible to show the Archdiocese we are serious about the future of our school. Pledges can be paid in installments over a 10-month period to make them more manageable.

Please talk with your family and friends, and pray over how you will participate. Ask grandparents and friends to go in on a pledge with you. Check at work if there is a corporate matching program to double your donation. Coming into the end of the year, many people are looking for additional charitable contributions to make for tax purposes--tell them your family's St. Ann story. The full letter may be accessed here if you wish to share it, or you may request additional copies in the office.

Donations may be made by returning the pledge form,

by texting ANGEL to 847-201-4236,

via PayPal to,

or at

Thank you, thank you, thank you for joining in this effort with us!
