Little Free Libraries Installed In FRES Attendance Area

Hi All,

I am excited to announce that we have installed two of three Little Free Libraries in our attendance area! One is at the VFW at Chimney Rock on Runions Creek Road and the other is at Turner Hams. I am currently working with VDOT to obtain a land use permit to install the third at the park and ride in Bergton. These Little Free Libraries are fully stocked with books for young readers to adult readers. A Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. They function on the honor system. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. If you take a book or two from a little library, try to bring some to share to that same library, or another in your area, when you can. Our goal with these Little Free Libraries is to increase the opportunities for literacy in our community among all age readers. This project was made possible with funding from Farmers & Merchants Bank and Steven Toyota, book donation by Peggy Biller and friends and donation of time and labor by Dennis Biller and family.

Sincerely,

Alisa Sims, Principal
