Cancer Fundraising Event at Coyote Creek
Isabelle's Hair Chop Fundraiser
On November 27th, 2015 Isabelle Schafer will be chopping her hair in support of BC Children's Hospital and the Wigs for Kids program. Since many of us have been touched by cancer, we will be holding an assembly on November 27th @ 1:00 p.m. If we can raise $600.00 within our school community before the assembly, we can all watch as Isabelle has her long hair cut off as she personally supports this important cause!
We will be running the following fundraisers within the school to help her raise funds.
1) Chair rentals- Anyone can rent a chair for $2 on the day of the Hair Chop assembly. A letter will be sent with further details.
2) Pie in Face- Many teachers within the school have offered to be pied in the face during the assembly. Beginning on November 16th, students can pay 25 cents to vote for the teacher that they would like to see receive a pie in the face. The 5 teachers that get the most money raised will be pied in the face at the assembly.
3) Crazy Hair Day- We can all support Isabelle by wearing our hair in a crazy way on November 27th. If you would like to have your hair colored with hair chalk by our leadership students that day at recess, you can donate $1 to the cause.
4) We're asking all students and staff to bring a toonie on the 27th to support Isabelle in reaching her goal of raising $600.00
Let's help Isabelle raise awareness for this fantastic cause.

Primary Christmas Concert
Coyote Creek students in Kindergarten to Grade three will be performing in "Melton, the Warm Hearted Snowman" in our school gym on December 2nd. Showtimes are 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM, and tickets are $3.00 to help defray the cost of putting the musical on. Tickets will be on sale starting November 16th. If you can help with costumes, set construction or props, please contact Mrs. Perez at the school.
Please note that we are having a Spring Concert for our Intermediate Students this year:)
Scholastic Book Fair
Dear Parents and Families,
The Scholastic Book Fair is Coming to Coyote Creek!
The Book Fair will be here from Monday, November 30 to Friday December 5th. The book fair will be open at lunch and after school. Students can also purchase books during their usual weekly library visit. What better way to promote reading to our students than by supporting this important literary event. We invite your entire family to participate by purchasing the latest and greatest in children’s books. Your support of this vital literary event is a key part of helping us obtain new books and resources for our library and classrooms.
Volunteers Needed!!!!
I am in need of volunteer help! During the book fair, I could use volunteers every day at lunch (11:30 – 12:28) and also after school for about 30 minutes. If you are able to help during any of these times, please let me know.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me at sturn_k@surreyschools.ca.
Thank you in advance for helping to make our students lifelong readers – we couldn’t do it without your participation.
Thank you!
Mrs. Sturn
