Defintion for Heart Attack's
A sudden and sometimes fatal occurrence of coronary thrombosis, typically resulting in the death of part of a heart muscle.
Cause of Heart Attack
A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked, most often by a build-up of fat, cholesterol and other substance, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries). The interrupted blood flow can damage or destroy part of the heart muscle.
Body System in Heart Attack: Cardiovascular System
Cardiovascular system is the only body system in a heart Attack.
Symptoms of Heart Attack's
Uncomfortable pressure and squeezing, usually located in the center of the chest. Pain may spread to shoulders, arms, neck, and back (usually on the left side). The pain is not always severe and may come and go (sharp, stabbing twinges of pain usually are not signals of heart attack). Sweating, nausea, shortness of breath, feeling of weakness
- May occur in either gender, even young adults, and not necessarily during physical or emotional stress.
Risk Factors of Heart Attacks
High blood pressure, High cholesterol, Tobacco use, Unhealthy diet, Physical Inactivity, Obesity.
Complications of Heart Attacks
Some arrhythmias, such as tachycardia, are mild and cause symptoms such as:
Palpitations (the sensation of your heart racing in your chest or throat), Chest pain, Dizziness, Lightheadedness, Fatigue (tiredness), Breathlessness.
