Spring 2023 #grants4U&U&U

Music and Arts are the Big Winners this Spring!

Spring is when students get to reap the best benefits from not only their teachers' hard work all year, but the extra funds the teachers have won in grant funds to implement high quality experiences. Check out Ms. Walker's Centerville 4th graders enjoying Ceremic Artist-in-Residence Sara Henriques and Mr. Alley's budding Ukelele musicians at RAMS!

Sara Henriques, a Toccoa, GA ceramics artist, spent a week before Spring Break in Centerville Elementary's art classes teaching clay work and ceramics.
Fourth graders are making "textured tiles" that will be stamped, fired, painted and finished to hang in Centerville's hallways.

Mr. Alley used his grant $$ to purchase Ukeleles at RAMS. No doubt, they'll be playing Somewhere Over the Rainbow as well as Israel Kamakawiwo'ole very soon!

Congratulations, but Shhhh! ๐Ÿคซ

Can't give all the details yet, but high five ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธ to Elaine Park at Homeland Park for snagging a prestigious, national $5000 Library Grant for her students. They're really going to enjoy all the great plans she has for spending it on enhancing the HPPS library. Take a chance -- there really are opportunities to win those hard-to-get grants!
