Mason Moose Minutes March 11
Teamwork it is! One Mason, One Family, One Team!
Message from the Principal
Dearest Mason Families,
Happy Friday!
This week the Mason family was able to share in some learning, laughter and proud moments! Celebrating our Family Grade Level Assemblies to reinforce our learning and experiences with the Mason Best Pledge and Leader in Me traits, along with singing and dancing to our Leader in Me song and highlighting the work and accomplishments of our Leaders of the Month was a great feeling amongst the Mason family! We also shared in a read aloud titled, I Am Enough, which reminded students to believe in who they are, value our similarities and differences as a Mason family, believe in each other, and spread love and kindness day in and day out!
I would like to wish everyone a Happy Saint Patrick's Day for all who celebrate next week! Wishing you all the happiness and luck! We welcome all members of the Mason family to come to school dressed in green!
Below are some events taking place next week for your reference:
* Mason Girl Scout troop will be hosting a cookie booth on the Mason blacktop at dismissal on Monday, March 14th.
* We are excited to have our Fire Prevention Assemblies for each grade level on Tuesday, March 15!
* PTO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 at 6:30 p.m.
* The next Communities United in Diversity Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16 at 6PM at South High School.
* Wear Your Words day is scheduled for Friday, March 18. Please kindly be sure that all words are appropriate for school and our Mason family members.
If you need anything or have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email at Hassana@gpschools.org or (313) 432-4404. Teamwork it is! Together we learn, together we lift, and together we lead!

Support for Ms. Scheich- Mason Y5 Teacher
Mason Community,
We wanted to take this opportunity to share information regarding our Young 5’s teacher, Mrs. Scheich.
Some of you may know that Mrs. Scheich lost her husband last month after battling colon cancer. She was by his side every step of his journey, all while supporting our littlest of learners in her Young 5s classroom.
Mrs. Scheich has impacted so many students as well as families with her compassion, care and generosity over the years. We know there have been families that have reached out upon hearing of the loss of her husband and inquiring about ways to support her during this difficult time.
If you wish to send any condolences to Mrs. Scheich, you can leave it in the main office and our staff will get it to her.
Let’s support Mrs. Scheich with love as she takes time to heal.
Playground and Pets Updates
We also ask that dog/puppies are not brought onto school property as it is posted No Dogs on School Property. This applies to the weekends as well.
Thank you
We are One Mason, One Family, One Team!
Parents know your child is in great hands! We are committed to providing our students with a quality education and maximizing the safety of all.
To assist us with this, please call the attendance line at 313-432-4401 anytime your student will be absent or late to school by 9AM. Please know if a student is out two or more days due to illness, we will need a doctors note upon their return.
If you need an early dismissal, we are asking that you also call the attendance line at 313-432-4401 as soon as possible, but before 3PM.
