Big picture

Recovery Services

It has been an honor to see our students in school and online this year. Yet, we know the COVID-19 pandemic created the circumstances that required us to educate students in new ways. We redesigned education. As students entered in-person school this fall we recognize all students will have unfinished learning. Your schools are attending to the learning needs of all students as we return to in-person learning. This intentionality will address the unfinished learning needs of most students. Students who experience disabilities may need more services to continue making progress. With an intentional focus and in partnership with families, we are planning our response to unfinished learning that occurred due to the global pandemic and redesign of educational services that began in March 2020.

Next week at your special education team meetings, you will have the opportunity to discuss Recovery Services with your building Instructional Coordinator.

We have worked to create a streamlined plan that will support this new process. While you have your special education team meetings you may notice small changes to ePEP.

  • A short question under Special Factors around Recovery Services
  • An additional line item in the meeting notes/agenda

We have templates, parent communication, drop in sessions and resources available to support you. Together we've got this!
