Friendship Celebration
We had a great celebration today! Thank you to all the parents who sent in treats for us - they were gobbled up by all.
Thank you also to all the parents who helped write friendship messages for the class. I loved every single one I got!
Here are a few pictures of kids delivering messages and enjoying their treats.
Math
We have just completed our Data and Probability unit. Students did really well in making and interpreting graphs and learned more about the differences between: certain, impossible, likely, and unlikely.
One of the activities students can choose if they finish their math work early is to practice with flash cards. Even though these are handmade, they have loved quizzing each other.
Our next unit focuses on US money. Vocabulary will include: dime, nickel, penny, half dollar and quarter. They will be learning values, combinations and grouping of coins.
Literacy
Students are writing their own Fairy Tale as we begin reading folktales. Students will be encouraged to write including at least 4 elements of a fairy tale and to stretch out their writing to include thoughts, action and dialogue.
Social Studies
We learned about the Nile River this week and other geographical facts about Egypt. We are also learning about what ancient Egyptians transported on boats on the Nile.
Acts of Kindness
You may remember a few weeks ago I challenged 2F to complete 100 Acts of Kindness by February 14th. As of today, they have 132! Such great kids!
