Mr. Holt's Notes
Practicing Excellence
- Doors open @ 7:40am and Tardy Bell/Instruction begins at 8:10am. Thank you for making sure students are at DHE by 8:10am and ready for instruction.
- Breakfast ends at 8:05am. Food is energy, and learning requires energy. If eating at school please arrive early.
- WE READ- Each and Every Day! President Harry Truman said, "not all readers are leaders, but all leaders are readers." Thank you for supporting student success by modeling and encouraging reading at home as well as at school. We know our DHE students are going to be the leaders of their generation, we expect nothing less.
Safety Updates
- Students and staff only in the cafeteria in the mornings starting Monday.
- Lunch Visitors- If you come visit your kiddo at lunch we have a special table setup for you and your child to eat at.
- Staff are assigned to the front foyer to greet students and monitor for student safety.
- If exiting your vehicle during arrival or dismissal times, please park in the parking lot.
Birthdays
- Non-food items may be sent to classroom but no food items are allowed per SPS Wellness guidelines
- Birthday Selfie- Mr. Holt takes a birthday selfie with all student and posts to DHE social media (unless you have signed the media block form)
- Students are celebrated at Rise and Shine, on morning announcements, and with a birthday selfie.
PTA
- Our amazing PTA with the help of community partners have purchased DHE shirts for all students.
- Shirts are encouraged on Fridays. If your child did not receive their shirt, PTA will be delivery to school next week.
- Whole School Picture in DHE10 Anniversary T-Shirts on Friday, August 24th (unless on media block list).
Recognizing DHE Teachers and Staff:
- One of the great things we do here at DHE is celebrate teachers and staff. If you would like to have your child’s teacher or someone else be recognized, please click HERE to do that.

DHE STAFF LEARNING
Your DHE staff is currently studying Collective Efficacy. We are reading the book, Collective Efficacy, written by Jenni Donohoo.

Game Information:
- Starts at 7:00
- National Anthem will be performed at approximately 6:45
- Once the performance is done we invite all students to run through the Tee Pee and onto the field (approximately 6:50). They will meet back up with parents on the South End of the Field by the Tee Pee.
- Parking will be a mess. Get here early!!
- Seating will be limited as we expect a Big crowd. Parents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to sit in the south end zone and along the track.
- All students in uniform or school shirts will get in free. Parents are also allowed in free of charge. (notify gate workers)
Kickapoo Girls Dance
KHS Golden Girls Dance Clinic
Join the Kickapoo High School Golden Girls for our annual dance clinic!
The clinic will emphasize dance instruction, choreography, and FUN!
Dancers will perform at the Varsity Football game on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018
Participants will:
· learn sidelines, fight song and dance to perform at end of first quarter
· have dinner provided during clinic (pizza, fruit & cookie)
· receive their own poms and t-shirt to wear during game
WHERE: Kickapoo High School Student Center
(Main entrance on West side of KHS off of Jefferson Ave.)
WHEN: Friday September 14, 2018 4:00 p.m. - end of the first quarter
Registration begins at 3:30 p.m.
WHO: Ages: 4 years to 8th Grade
COST: $32.00 per child (Additional siblings $25.00 each); includes free admission to game for dancer
