YQCA* Training
- Tuesday, June 01, 2021 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at 8015 W. Center Road, Omaha
- Tuesday, June 08, 2021 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Sarpy Fairgrounds.
- YQCA* can take the online course instead at http://yqca.org/ Online course is $12. Print off or screen shot completion certificates and mail or email them to the 4-H Office at this time.
DO NOT register for in person courses yet. More to come on In person courses. Stay tuned.
*Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) is a national multi-species quality assurance program with a focus on three core pillars: food safety, animal well-being, and character development. This is required for youth ages 8 and up who plan to show animals in the Douglas-Sarpy 4-H program.

STATEWIDE OPPORTUNITIES
4-H Spotlight: Companion Animal Art Contest
- Exhibits are to be original works of the exhibitor and relate to the dog, cat, rabbit, or companion animals.
- Works of art should may not have been used in previous years
- Should have been created within the year
- Individuals may only submit one photo of each art item.
- Media may include watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil, chalk, charcoal, pen, ink, crayon, or pastels. Items may be made of wood, glass, metal, ceramic, tile, fabric, mixed media, felted wool, cotton linter, batik, weaving, fabric dyed by the exhibitor, clay, sculpted cardboard, plaster of paris, quilting, etc. Designs may also be influenced by another culture.
- Art items may also be made from recycled items such as common objects or material combined in a creative way to depict companion animals.
- Entries failing to meet the contest rules will be dropped one ribbon placing.
- The senior division champion and reserve champion exhibits will be retained for use by the Nebraska 4-H companion animal program.

Only 1 photo will be accepted for each entry.

The Nebraska 4-H Horse Stampede will be held Saturday, March 27!
The Horse Stampede offers a variety of contents that do not involve live animals, including public speaking, demonstration, art, photography, and horse bowl. Learn more at 4h.unl.edu/horse/stampede

The Papillion 4-H Extension office is once again on the move! We are now located at 1102 E. 1st Street, Papillion, NE 68046. We are at the intersection of 72nd and 1st in what was previously the Black Hills Energy building. Due to ongoing construction, we won't officially be open until May.
