Who was Auguste Comte?
He was born in France in 1798. His father was a tax official, so he was accounted as an upper class citizen during the French Revolution. He attended the University of Montpellier, but abandoned this in favor or republicanism. This influenced his later work.

In 1826, he furthered his career into the study of society, he decided that like the physical world society operates under its own set of laws. Over all though, he was kind of the first person to dig too deep into sociology. He decided that the cornerstone to human political organization was Religion. He also was the founder of the discipline of sociology, and created the doctrine of positivism.
