Student Leadership Opportunities 2022-23
PRE believes that student leadership and involvement is important. Students in grades K-2 engage in leadership opportunities within their classrooms where 3-5 students move to school-wide leadership opportunities. Below you will find the opportunities for 3-5 students.
Safety Patrol:
Safety Patrol (4th-5th graders) will be responsible for helping students arrive to school and leave school safely. Training will be required, and students will be assigned times to carry out their responsibilities.
Student Council Assembly Planning and Presenting:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will plan and present assemblies. There will be one assembly/quarter, and there will be a required meeting each quarter to do this work. This would be a great opportunity for students who enjoy speaking and presenting in front of others.
Student Council Spirit Day Coordination:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will plan spirit days. There will be one spirit week/quarter, and there will be a required meeting each quarter to plan these days. Students will also make posters to promote the spirit days.
Student Council Ambassadors:
Student reps (3rd-5th graders) will act as greeters at specific events, such as Back to School Night. The ambassadors will also assist kindergartners, especially at the beginning of the year. This is a great opportunity for students who feel comfortable greeting others.
Technology Team:
The technology team (4th graders) will assist with technology needs.
Librarian Assistants:
Librarian Assistants (4th and 5th graders) will work with Mrs. Ptacek to perform library tasks.
Recycling Team:
Third graders will have the opportunity to serve on the recycling team. Team members will work with Mrs. Porras and assist with recycling on a regular basis.
Announcements:
Fifth graders will carry out daily announcements.
***NEW-Community Service Team:
This is a new team for 4th & 5th graders. Do you like to participate in community service events? Would you like to lead a community service event? This team will work with the PRE PTO to plan and execute the monthly community service events that are held after school.
Every student who wishes to participate and fills out an application will be on at least one team.
Applications are due on May 18, 2022. Please use the link below to apply.
PRE Field Day May 18, 2022
PRE Families,
I am very excited to be putting together my 4th Field Day here at PRE. It will be a lot of fun getting back outside after having a rainy indoor field day last year. My main goal is always to make field day a fun and exciting experience for all students to be a part of! The plan is to have 13 stations for students to rotate to in a morning rotation/afternoon rotation format with K, 1st, and 2nd rotating through stations in the morning and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade rotating through in the afternoon.
Here is an outline of the current schedule, without any weather issues:
● K-2 Field Day Kickoff: 9:05-9:15
● AM Stations: 9:15-12:15 (If you volunteer for a station, please arrive at 9:00)
● K-2 Break/Lunch: 12:25-1:10
● 3-5 Break/Lunch: 11:30-12:10
● 3-5 Field Day Kickoff: 12:10-12:20
● PM Stations: 12:20-3:35 (If you volunteer for a station, please arrive at 12:00)
I have a sign-up genius set up for field day volunteers. I am in need of quite a few volunteers to help this day run as smoothly as possible. There will be two slots for each station for signing up and it is broken up into a K-2 sign up and a 3-5 sign up. If you don’t mind giving your time to help, I would love to see you on the 18th of May for PRE Field Day!

Field Day will be a sack lunch day. You can send a sack lunch from home or your child can get a sack lunch from our cafeteria. Please fill out the Field Day Lunch Choice form if you want your child to get a sack lunch from school. This will help our cafeteria staff plan accurately.
