FALL 2016 JUMP ROPE FOR HEART UPDATE
I am pleased to announce that IAHPERD received a check from the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION in August for $51,416.37. We received this money because of our Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart Events that 510 schools participated during the 2015-16 school year.
Our American Heart Youth Marketers will be contacting your school this Fall to encourage you to hold an event in your school. What are the benefits to your students if you host an event?
Kids learn the value of community service and become empowered to contribute to their community’s welfare.
Children join together in helping other kids with special hearts.
Students learn how to develop heart -healthy habits while being physically active.
Participants learn jump rope and basketball skills they can use for the rest of their lives.
Kids raise funds for research and outreach programs that can save lives.
Go to www.shaperamerica.org and be informed about Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart. It has great tips on how to hold a successful event.
Please contact me if you have any questions about holding an event. Margaretbeuter@gmail.com
