Owl News (Week of Nov. 9th)
Dear Mission Ridge Families,
This week, we honor our service men & women that have served and still serve our country. Thank you for your service!! If you have not done so, please submit a picture to our counselor (ghered02@sisd.net) of family member that has served in our military so we can include in our virtual presentation.
We will have the following dress up days this week:
- Monday- Wear #TeamSISD shirt
- Tuesday- Wear Camouflage
- Wednesday- No School
- Thursday- Wear Red, White, & Blue
- Friday- Wear Purple
We will be starting our third week of our 2nd grading period. Thank you for your support and patience as we work towards providing our Owls with the education and resources they deserve. Thank you to all of our parent that participated in our first virtual Report Card Night this past week. If you haven't met with your teacher, please communicate with your teacher to schedule a day and time.
As we continue our Remote Learning, it is very important that we continue to work together to make sure our Owls are actively participating in their classes. Students should be logged in by 7:30 AM and maintain cameras on throughout the day., unless teachers tells you otherwise. Students should be turning in their classwork and completing their homework on a daily basis. If for some reason your child is not able to log in, they will have two (2) days to submit their work and you, parent, need to communicate with teacher of reason not logged in.
In addition, our attendance will be closely monitored. We will start issuing out Attendance Warning Letters to students who accumulate excessive absences. By law, students need to be in school 90% of the instructional time. Once a student falls below the 90% attendance, a student may be subject to Truancy Court and a 45 Attendance Plan will be developed for your child. For any questions or concerns, please contact our Attendance Secretary or Mr. Mendez at 938-2000.
Due to Veteran's Day Holiday on Wednesday, Nov. 11th, there will be no classes on this day.
Please stay safe and healthy. Continue practicing social distancing, wear your masks around others, and practice frequent hand washing.
Stronger Together,
Jesus Mendez, Principal
Anna Lozano, Asst. Principal
